BGMEA leaders urges NBR to resolve problems faced by RMG sector

BGMEA  have urged the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to address customs, bond and tax-related issues to ease business procedures for the RMG industry.

The delegation of BGMEA headed by President Faruque Hassan made the call during their meeting with Sams Uddin Ahmed, Member (Tax Policy) of NBR in Dhaka on July 6.

BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim, Director Asif Ashraf, and Chair of BGMEA Standing Committee on Foreign Mission Cell Shams Mahmud were also present at the meeting.

Faruque Hassan said business procedures should be made easier to reduce time and cost, which will help the RMG sector to remain competitive and sustain growth momentum.

He requested the NBR to take necessary steps to resolve problems related to customs, bond and tax being faced by garment factories.

NBR Member Sams Uddin Ahmed took note of the issues raised by the BGMEA leaders and assured cooperation in addressing them.
